The compliance and risk management profession has grown into one of significant importance over the past decade and as a result has seen the Isle of Man establish a reputation for being a premier jurisdiction in terms of regulation, achieving a stable environment in which to do business, whilst meeting international standards of financial supervision.

These high standards are the direct result of the positive synergy between Government, Regulators and the Financial Services Industry.

In 2010 the Compliance Institute made the decision to merge with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, and the need to form a local organisation that would continue to provide a vocal representation for Isle of Man governance, risk and compliance professionals was identified.

The Alliance of Isle of Man Compliance Professionals (AICP) was established to maintain and develop the representation between the regulators and the business community, and to reaffirm compliance and risk management as a significant professional discipline in the Isle of Man.

The AICP is formed with the following aims:

  • establishing an alliance to represent the interests of compliance, anti-money laundering, governance, regulatory and risk professionals resident in the Isle of Man and elsewhere
  • emphasising the compliance professional’s role in the Isle of Man Financial Services Industry
  • making representation, on behalf of its members, to the Isle of Man Government and regulatory authorities
  • promoting the highest standards of compliance and governance in the Isle of Man
  • providing information, education and other compliance and risk services to its members
  • providing a forum for discussion and dialogue on all compliance issues

The Alliance of Isle of Man Compliance Professionals is incorporated as AICP Limited, an Isle of Man company incorporated by guarantee. Company number 125462C

AICP Limited is registered with the Information Commissioner – N7171

Continuing Professional Development is the means by which members of the AICP maintain, improve and broaden their knowledge and skills and develop the personal qualities required in their professional roles.
